I've read Kubler-Ross, which is referenced frequently in this book and found that Konigsberg provided a well thought out alternative to the well accepted stages of grief. The feeling of "being managed" by these stages is not that helpful - and disquieting to some. Excellent information on what we do and don't know about the grieving process--what is based on research and what is based on anecdotes.

They would experience few damaging marks? Americans' current popular theory of five stages of grief isn't that for many people.
